Why we love this drink?

Loved for its opulent dark fruit and layered spice, the palate reveals cassis, plum, and blackberry interwoven with cedar, clove, and dark chocolate. Rich and juicy yet balanced, it shows fine tannins and well-integrated oak, finishing long, polished, and persistent. An intense ruby-purple robe with deep reflections conveys richness and concentration. The dense core suggests maturity and structure, while bright highlights reflect freshness and energy, hinting at the wine’s balance between power and elegance. In the aroma, cassis and ripe plum dominate, lifted by cedar, clove, and cocoa notes. Subtle hints of spice and oak provide complexity, creating a bouquet that is both powerful and refined, evolving beautifully in the glass.
History
The Family Series by Miles Mossop Wines began in 2004, each cuvée named after one of the winemaker’s children. Max, a Bordeaux-style blend, represents dedication to craft through minimal intervention, hand pressing, and natural fermentation, reflecting South Africa’s modern artisanal winemaking identity.
