And intense, zippy wine sporting that characteristic bubblegum aroma of Gamay. We find it rather classy. Mee Godard's Village is round and fruit forward. A tangle of ripe wild raspberry, strawberry and blackberry is discernible in the flavour, followed by a sharp, fresh aftertaste.

Morgon Corcelette is youthful, fruity and extremely delicious fusion of blackcurrants, cherries, and a blend of spices such as cinnamon, clove, pepper and vanilla. Made with the utmost care and precision, this composed, elegant wine maintains great balance and harmony: a medium acidity, fine tannins, energetic, yet not too intense. Mee Godard creates this wine from very old Gamay grapes, and there’s no doubt that does them justice! Corcellette is as pure as it comes, with no sulphites added.

The cheerful and approachable Baby Banditoes make a great introduction to Testalonga. Made from organic Cinsault grapes, Chin Up is a refreshing and very gulpaple light red. We picked up lovely aromas of red fruits, malt, moss, and plums. Natural, hand pressed, unfiltered and unfined.

The clay-rich soils of Ampeleia's "Donkey Vineyard" are producing Cabernet Franc at its finest. Perfectly balanced, with a delectable medium to full body, embracing crisp and bright fruit notes. A keen palate may pick up some earthiness too. This wine has a rather unique little touch to it: a wonderful, menthol note that stays present throughout this sensory adventure. Combine this with the ripe, granular tannins and viola! Something surprisingly different. The 2020 Magnum edition is one of just 7500 bottles produced that year.

The Le Clos des Bachelards Monopole is a groundbreaking, revolutionary wine from the region of Beaujolais. This conventionally light and medium-bodied Gamay has immense elegance and intricacy, capable of keeping you on the edge of your seat from the first drop to the last. It welcomes you with a vibrant smell of red and blue berries and red fruits, and a generous noseful of flowers. The flavor is mineral, spicy and produces a lasting finish. Monopole is one of Comtesse de Vazellies' most acclaimed creations, undoubtedly the result of the hard work, dedication and faith this winemaker puts into her wines. If you're looking for a serious, high-end natural wine, we wholeheartedly recommend this one.

This Moulin-à-Vent is very powerful, concentrated, and well-defined. The aroma and flavor work beautifully together to evoke an assemblage of ripe red fruits such as raspberries, cherries and pomegranates, yet the variety is not overwhelming. The point of this wine is not to give you a mouthful of different tones, but to impress with its depth and precision. Light, smooth, and quite acidic, this wine is a beautiful illustration of how top grape quality, winemaking skill and modern thinking thrive together at the ancient estate of Château des Bachelards. If you like collecting, this one's for you with at least a decade's aging potential.

Another excellent, serious Beaujolais by Alexandra de Vazellies. If you enjoy Beaujolais and haven't tried her stuff yet... Well, you know what to do! This red wine is exquisitely floral on the nose and combines classic red fruit flavors with contemplative earthy undertones. Give this Fleurie some time to open up and blossom into perfection – your patience will be generously rewarded.

Pâquerette, or 'Daisy', is a delightful, refreshing lighter red. The wine owes its pure, juicy flavor to the concrete vats it was aged in. These modern vessels have many advantages, such as providing natural circulation of yeast and good insulation, yet they impart no flavor of their own, preserving the genuine taste of the grapes. One of the most moderately priced wines in Château des Bachelards range, Pâquerette is a great place to begin your adventure into Beaujolais and the world of modern French winemaking. Very low sulphite content.

Wow Wow is an energetic, pale ruby-red puppy with a zing. Playful and bright. Wow Wow is made from Syrah grapes grown in the Garraf Natural Park (just outside of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain) under proud, organic conditions. Macerated for 20 days with native yeasts and without stems in stainless steel tanks. Peppery and aromatic to the nose with red fruits and sour cherry notes. Quite bold and rather dry, if you have tried Clos Lentiscus' 'Kikiriki' you will notice that "Wow Wow '' is somewhat more dense. 'Wow Wow' works better with a sociable summer lunch with friends than a cozy winter's evening. A casual 11%ABV matching well with poultry, lamb and game dishes.

The clear and pale purple should not mislead you into thinking that 'Kikiriki' lacks character. As any good cockerel should be, it's light, bright and lively! Whilst at first the aroma is reductive, it gives way to a bouquet of spices and black fruit. Delicious blackberries and blueberries linger amongst dark, fruity flavours. Dry but with a mouthwatering acidity that gives this wine an alluring lift. Pure glou-glou just waiting to stand aside a dish as cheeky as itself!

The name 'Perill Negre', made up from the Catalan words 'peril' and 'negre' (danger and black) in a referene to the dark, intense purple-red color of the Sumoll grape. Though very pleasant and well-integrated, this wine is rustically authentic and quite serious. It doesn't play games. Floral with hints of black cherries on the nose, vibrant complexity on the palate with black fruit notes mixed with a moderate, yet confident acidity.

Empatia is Ampeleia's most intimate wine, and their biggest secret. Or so it was until 2017, when they finally began sharing it with the world! Produced since 2007, the aptly named Empatia was once reserved for close friends and partners. Today the exclusive wine has made it to the wider public and we have the chance to savor an amazing Merlot full of local character. This rare treat has an elegant aroma of cassis, a rich bold flavor, lively acidity and lasting finish. The local terroir gives the Merlot a unique quality, that note of menthol so characteristic of the local terroir. Empatia is 'big like friendship' so it is only natural that such a big wine is bottled in magnums only, and just 250 bottles per vintage!
