Goumenissa is a fool-proof choice for lovers of classic reds, who will appreciate its velvet style. This 70/30% mix of Xinomavro and Negoska grapes may feel a touch more balanced and refined than a monovarietal Xinomavro wine. It parades around in the glass with a clear medium ruby-red color that releases a perfumed and sweetly spiced aroma with just a whiff of the French oak barrels in which it has aged for 12 months. On the palate its fair structure and lively, elegant nature can be noted alongside sweet spices and chocolate. Perfect for pairing with red meat dishes. A well rounded 13% ABV with a long lingering finish, accompanies by rich and persistent tannins. Really reminding you that you are drinking something of structure and quality. Indeed, we bet this can 100% pass for “serious and expensive” with a beginner wine enthusiast!

100% Assyrtiko grapes selected by hand and crushed underfoot. The traditional way. Its slightly cloudy, light amber coloring suggests, correctly, the modest bouquet of citrus and green fruits. With a little extra swirl these scents really begin to present themselves. Easily orange in the mouth with the same fruity nature as in the open aromatics. After the hand gathering and foot stamping process, MInimus is aged for three to four months in (six year old) French oak barrels with no additives. 13% ABV and well structured. No extremes nor funkiness can be found in this stimulating, low sulphur wine. A little extra aeration really brings MInimus into its full glory.

A generous fragrant red to enjoy with a late dinner. This Xinomavro welcomes you with lavish aromas of dark honey, gingerbread, oak and dates. The spicy and herbal bouquet is followed by a very smooth balanced taste that reveals a medium body, medium acidity and nice dry tannins. Slow down, pour a glass and savor the here and now.

‘miNImus’ comes from sandy, loamy soils. Treating the eyes to an intensely even shade of amber. Just as pronounced aromas give away its origins in amphora, who’s terracotta perfume wafts gently in the air. On the palate sandy, light tannins amuse themselves amongst intense and aromatic notes that lean more towards dried fruits and spices. Curiously complex. A refreshing acidity awakens the senses to absorb this 12.5% ABV pleasure, to whom lovers of amphora wines will certainly appreciate. Ageing for four months in French oak barrels and then a further six months in the bottle leaves this gratifying drink a comfortable intermediate-to-advanced in its category. Not too heavy. Not too light. Just right.

Spin is a very interesting offbeat red wine that offers a thoroughly modern wine experience without being a single bit funky. Light, easy-going and low-alcohol. A touch of tomato green veggies in the aroma. We really loved this style of red.

Gastronomic and great with seafood and salad, ‘Santorini Natural’ doesn’t overshadow the dish, it co-operates with it. Made from the rare ‘Assyrtiko’ grape variety to which Gavalas is famous, this wine smells fresh and intense. The dusty mineral aroma collaborates wonderfully with the refreshingly elevated acidity and high citrus zest. This wine involves a process of long fermentation (two months) with native yeasts and then maturation for a further-six to-eight months. Only 4,000 bottles are produced at a time! So don’t wait around! Five generations of wine production makes the Gavalas family winery one of the oldest in the region of Santorini. They concentrate on honoring the local and most vibrant varieties of grapes. Using modern, high tech equipment in historic stone buildings (at the traditional settlement of Megalochori) to develop high quality wines.

Gavalas Katsano is a clear, bright lemon-yellow color with a timeless floral bouquet holding a touch of honeysuckle – that slightly sharp scent that breathes freshness. The flavor is gently mineral, and swims with fruity, citrus notes such as grapefruit and white cherry on an earthy base of white chocolate. Medium to full bodied with an oily side, this rare breed gets more and more tempting by the minute. Very well suited for those who prefer a weightier, richer white. The couple behind Karanika, Laurens Hartman-Karanika and Annette van Kampen are a living testament that dreams come true. After years of working and living in the Netherlands, they decided to follow their hearts and become winemakers in Greece, bringing us a range of amazing contemporary Greek wines. Made using the traditional Champagne method, this lively and well-rounded sparking is a skilful blend of the spicy red Xinomavro (the 'Greek Pinot Noir') and fruity white Assyrtiko grapes. A complex aroma of brioche, pear and nectarine is complemented with notes orange blossom and red pepper. The flavor gracefully echoes the bouquet and has a fresh acidity. The bubbles are exciting, prickly and persistent.

Reflecting the panoramic views of the Eagle (Ateos) vineyard by the Vriniotis winery, this wine sets us free with its fresh and concentrated nature. Combined together, the clear, low intensity yellow coloring and the sweet and simple citrus aromas bring to mind a beautiful Greek sunset . The taste is pleasant bitter lemon with discreet minerality, and a medium to full body, held aloft by pronounced acidity. A lovely, lasting, echoing finish. Macerated at 5º celsius for 12 hours and aged for at least six months on its fine lees with the occasional bâtonnage (stirring) for good measure. The finished product is a joyful, dreamy treat.

Malagouzia is an elegant indigenous Greek grape brought back from the point of extinction, and it heralded Greece's recent winemaking renaissance. The Chatzvaritis skin contact Malagouzia is traditionally aromatic and floral, imbued with sweet notes of Turkish delight and rose petals. A lovely lighter orange that is not overly complex.

A firm, charismatic and exceptionally well-crafted wine. In making it, Chatzivaritis stay so true to artisanal principles, they even foot stomp the grapes! Just like Adriano Celentano does in Italy's undying classic, Il Bisbetico Domato. Spontaneously fermented in French oak, no additives, fining or filtration, and minimal sulfur content. Refreshing, intense and spicy.

This light-hearted summery pét-nat is one of Chatzivaritis' most acknowledged wines, and for good reason. Migma will greet you with a generous aroma where you might pick up tropical fruit, citrus, elderflower, and honey. The flavor is just as fruity and pleasantly off-dry, its sweetness compensated by a dazzling acidity and confident structure. All this makes Migma the perfect apero and an unbeatable high-quality thirst-quencher.

Negoska Carbonic is Chatzivaritis' excellent interpretation of the Beaujolais style on Greek soil. Created using carbonic maceration, when the grapes are fermented whole and intact, then gently pressed, spontaneously fermented and aged on lees, this wine came out both fruity and floral, animated and laidback, light yet pleasantly tannic... and with a slight funky kick!
