This 50% Blaufrankish, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon blend was fermented in traditional Spanish clay vessels called tinajas and then in a similarly-shaped modern twist, a concrete ovioid vessel. This wine comes from the cru of Fleurie where Gamay grapes grow on sandier, lighter soil than in neighboring crus, making Fleurie wines the gentler ones in the Beaujolais family. We were too shy to ask what the middle finger means, but the name of this wine is really nice (Let’s drink to good ideas!), so we figured it must be a good message.

Created using carbonic maceration, when the grapes are fermented whole and intact, then gently pressed, spontaneously fermented and aged on lees, this wine came out both fruity and floral, animated and laidback, light yet pleasantly tannic... and with a slight funky kick!
