Why we love this drink?

Loved for its spectacular richness and juicy core, offering an opulent mouthfeel defined by cassis and dark chocolate notes. The palate is masterful and well-balanced, where velvety tannins integrate seamlessly with vibrant fruit and subtle cedar. A lingering, persistent finish leaves a memorable impression of elegance and depth. The wine showcases a deep, dark plum-red center with a brilliant garnet rim, indicating excellent concentration and maturity. In the glass, it appears dense and viscous, with a clean intensity that reflects its high-quality Bordeaux-style heritage. In the aroma, heady notes of blackberry and ripe plum are accented by sophisticated layers of cedar, clove, and toasted vanilla. Hints of tobacco spice and dark currants emerge as the wine opens up, creating a complex and inviting bouquet that perfectly balances primary fruit with refined oak influence.
History
The winemaker established this family-focused brand in 2004, naming this flagship red blend after his son, Maximilian. Grapes are meticulously sourced from low-yielding, unirrigated vineyards across Stellenbosch to ensure a pure expression of the Western Cape terroir. Every bottle is crafted using a hands-on approach, including spontaneous fermentation and bottling without filtration to preserve the natural character of the site.
